A 3-day MASTERCLASS
Design of sound sculptures and ceramic instruments.
In this masterclass, we will explore various ways to use ceramics for creating sounds, including instruments and sculptures. The session will involve showcasing different experiments related to ceramics and sound. Additionally, there will be opportunities for dialogue and discussion of technical aspects. We will showcase how to construct ceramic pieces specifically designed for acoustic purposes. We will also delve into the development of acoustic systems and the exploration of hydraulic systems. Furthermore, we will engage in the creation of sculptures that produce sound using water.
Concert
Presentation of the project ¨Suena Barro “, an orchestra of ceramic instruments and new technologies. Different experimentations of ceramic sounds, instruments, and sound sculptures will be exhibited.
SUENA BARRO Is a multidisciplinary project made up of potters, musicians, and luthiers, which aims at research and training in the construction of ceramic instruments and their collective execution.
It is also in itself an ensemble where aerophones, idiophones, membranophones, and chordophones are combined, built from clay.
SUENA BARRO is developing research around guitars, charangos, drums, udus, harps, and saxophones.
The team gives talks, workshops, and concerts in different parts of the world, in countries such as: Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, The Dominican Republic, French Antilles (Guadeloupe), Tunisia, Spain, France, Belgium, Portugal, Italy, and now in Greece!
