A journey through the evolution of Contemporary Greek Ceramics
Exhibition Curation: George Vavatsis
There is no greater pleasure for a teacher than that of a student transcending him. The purpose of this exhibition is to show how the masters of the 50s, through their dedication and commitment, managed to become focal points for all the Ceramists that followed them. The interconnectedness and evolution between these two eras.
This exhibition invites us to contemplate the dynamic exchange between tradition and innovation, revealing how each generation enriches and evolves the art form, much like the transformative process of clay itself
Two sections are communicating, two visions colliding, two eras looking at each other and drawing inspiration.
About 6exi Contemporary Ceramics: 6exi Contemporary Ceramics is a Ceramics studio and gallery, established in 2017 by George Vavatsis, in Thessaloniki. The “6exi” is a creative space, which through exhibitions workshops, and seminars, focuses on the introduction and communication of the public with the vast world of contemporary Ceramics.
About Sealed Earth Gallery: Sealed Earth Gallery is an establishment devoted to promoting Greek and international Contemporary Art, committed to showcasing the brilliance of modern and contemporary ceramics. Focusing on creating dialogues and facilitating exchanges among diverse approaches to ceramics, our exhibition program oscillates mainly between sculptors who employ ceramics as a medium of expression and ceramists who explore contemporary forms.
This summer our exhibition program is presented at SANTORINI ART FACTORY (SAF)
About Santorini Arts Factory: SAF is the artistic aspect of the Tomato Industrial Museum, “D. Nomikos”.
It was created with the ambition to become one of the pillars of cultural activities on the island of Santorini and the wider region of South Aegean. Its orientation is identical to that of the Industrial Museum and is based on three central axes: History & Tradition, Culture, and Education.
