Beadlet anemone – chair

ONE OF A KIND
Stoneware clay – Deeply influenced by observing the seascape around Koufonisi, during my residency last summer, my work was inspired by the beautiful seabed of anemones I found on the northern rocky side of the island.
I was amazed learning more about them during my research and I was fascinated by their dual nature. Sea Anemones are creatures beautiful and dangerous. It is a chair where anemones have engulfed the frame of this chair and turned it into their permanent home. This object by definition invites you to sit comfortably but once you approach, it repels you as it is surrounded by tentacles that follow the undulations of the sea currents and my psyche.
