A hands-on workshop on the 4th and 5th of February
Through the seminar, the participants will be able to understand design techniques that will be useful to them in the course, the process of printing, and apply them in a real example.
On the first day, design techniques, the programs to use, and how to create the print mass will be presented. After the presentation, the participants will design a simple object (e.g., mug). On the second day, the printer will be connected to each laptop, and the previous day’s prints will proceed.
Participants should be able to produce the 3D model in the design program of choice and export it to .stl. Each participant should bring their laptop with the design program of choice installed and the ability to install Cura Slicer during the workshop.
Nikos Athanasopoulos (Niklas) is a product designer who deals with the 3D printing of ceramics. His works alternate between pure geometric and free organic volumes. The shapes of his ceramics are created either in computer code or in a digital virtual environment (Virtual Reality).
