Alberto Bustos — Filaments and Textures

The main objective of the three-day workshop named ‘Filaments and Textures’ is to model the clay directly with our hands, without tools. In this way, we will be able to communicate directly with the clay and transmit our feelings.

With the ‘launch’ technique, we will make textured slabs and square filaments, flat and rectangular. We will also create stone textures using pigmented cookies and apply coloring pigments and glaze, powder and liquid, on the wet clay.

We will discover how all these techniques can be applied to sculptures and adapt them to the functional ceramic style.

We will tell stories of hope with our pieces, with absolute freedom and improvisation, without obsessing with technique.
